Southeastern Washington is known for its beautiful rolling hills and the very fertile agricultural land. The area is locally referred to as the Palouse (the early French explorers called the area the Pelouse which translates to grasslands). The Palouse also hosts a collection of some very beautiful barns. Some are even over a 100 years old (and they don’t hide the scars)! These colorful structures provide a nice contrast to the land around them. You can find this barn as you drive along the US-195 South highway. I feel it is a wonderful way to welcome people to the Palouse!
